    Muzzy 4 Blade?

Does anyone shoot the standard Muzzy 4 blade? Do they leave good blood trails? I wound up with 6 of these and I put them on some arrows last night and shot them and WOW...they flew great. I had been shooting my Magnus Black Hornets and had them dialed in with my field points.

I screwed on a couple of these Muzzy 4 blades and they hit dead on with the Hornets and field points at 60 yards (THANKS RAT!!!!!!!). They seem to be pretty durable as well.

I've been somewhat OCD on broadheads lately. I bought a pack of the Rage Trypan's, a pack of the Magnus Black Hornets and a pack of the Bloodsport Night Fury's. The only ones I haven't shot yet are the Trypans (my bow shop didn't have any collars for them so I am waiting on a pack to arrive from Rage). Decisions, decisions.

if its been on the market this long they're bound to be doing something right. I shot my first pig with one little guy about 60 pounds made it 15 yards maybe

Shot placement is key. Lots of animals have been killed with a 4 blade muzzy, but every muzzy kill I've been around the blood trail isn't the best/of any blood at all. Those trypans are wicked, I'm excited to let one or two of those fly this year

I've shot a couple does and a pig with the old blue Muzzy 4 blades. Like you they flew great for me but I had basically no blood trail. Found all three animals as all were well placed shots but man I was disappointed with the blood.

I shot three animals last year with the Muzzy 4 blade. All 3 animals had a very minimal blood trail. 2 shots were perfect and animals ran approx 40 yards. The 180+ buck in my avatar was the 3rd animal and the recovery was a literally nightmare. I'm not saying they are bad broadheads but I also was very disappointed and are trying something new this year.

I was afraid that bad blood trails would be the response.

Hmmm...been shooting the 4 blade for years and I cant think of a single animal that I have not been able to trail/locate. Shot placement is key. A high double lung is not going to leave a large blood trail on most broadheads. A low heart shot should leave a nice path to follow. I would say all of my shooting has been from elevation and not from the ground level.

I'm in the same boat with not much of a blood trail. Though, I usually don't have to trail them very far. I use the old 3 blade Muzzy, killed a few with the 4 blade.

i shot them for a long time. problem i had with them is in their manufacturing. i started finding that when i would spin test arrow and broadhead, after squaring shaft, some them would wobble. from what i could find it is between the threaded ferrule and the tip where the issue is. i gave up and went to slick tricks....never had a single issue from those.

I've tried a gazillion different broadheads and always go back to Muzzy 4 blade 100 gr. I've killed hogs, deer, javelina, bears, and other critters. Never failed me.
