    Peep cut my string!

Is this a common problem with this brand peep??!
I usually use a G5 peep, have used them for years. I've shot this bow 5 months... shoot it a lot.. but not that much! Def a sharp peep!
    Anyone else have this issue???!

My peep frayed a couple strands when I first started shooting. I trimmed, waxed, and rolled on. But it was maybe a quarter of the strands yours cut.

A possibility but I've never had a problem out of a peep. I'll go out on a limb and say it's the string quality.. that's a string on a stock obsession? Am I correct? Mine is fraying like crazy and have bad serving separation. Not impressed..

Whatever the cause, I'd get it fixed. Probably the easiest will be getting a new peep

Definitely had some wear before, but not at a peep sight, I don't think. Can you identify a sharp spot on the peep? Have you waxed it?

Obsession fusion 6!!! Got rid of my halon and haven't looked back... had no other issues with string at all... no string separating or Twisting.. it looks like peep is digging further into strands... I would say 50% of strands are shot... Im having them restring it tomorrow and make sure peep is messed up..

Waxed it often... not now... archery shop is going to remove peep and inspect it tomorrow.
More than likely gonna restring it... sucks but glad it didn't happen during season

Yes, worst part is you can see where peep is cutting deeper into string. Ugh

It's actually more common than you think. The G5 meta peep was notorious for it. Also have to make sure the bundles are seated properly before putting tension back on the string. If some strands are left out of the grooves then they can pop under tension.

I already knew it was a red peep before I opened the thread. I got rid of mine

Hate to say it is not that uncommon, doesn't happen often but happens more than it should. I have gotten to the point of inspecting the peep sights before installing be they Radical, Meta or any other sight. I have seen sharp edges cut strings with those brands as well as the Carbon 3/16 sights that come with Diamonds and the sights that come on Bear and PSE RTH packages. A couple I taled to Diamond about and they wanted to see them. Diamond replaced the Peep and string on both of those bows.

It doesn't happen very often but does enough I would ask the Tech setting up a bow or changing your peep to inspect the sight for sharp edges or burrs.

owing a shop i have seen a lot of them, the great majority were red eye peeps, a fair number were g5 meta,,, and almost all of them were metal peeps, i can only recall one plastic peep cutting the string

I had a Rad Peep with burr on it as well, I never put it on my string though. I check every peep for burrs with a cotton ball or a Q-tip, it can happen to any peep.

Never used that peep in the images; it looks godawful though.
