Need Help on Arrow Selection (Spine and Length)

We promised Hunter years ago that when she graduated from High School, we would take her to South Africa for her graduation present/birthday present. Well next year she will be graduating and has not forgotten our promise. So now I have to start getting her ready for the game over there. Hunter has been hunting with her bow since she was 12 years old so that is not a problem. The problem is I need to work up a arrow that she can use during this hunting season (Whitetail, Hogs, and some exotics) that she will be using also in SA. I have slowly creeped her bow up to were she is shooting 55 pounds out of her Mission Craze. She shoots if very well, She has been using 22 inch arrows and 75 grain Thunder heads. I need to adjust some on her length of arrow to at least 23 inches now to increase her draw length some. Since I am very old school and still use aluminum arrows, I have no idea what I need in Carbon arrows. The arrows she has been using are Beeman ICS Hunter 400. I was looking at Gold Tip, but not completely settled on them, but have no idea what spine to use since there is no arrow selection chart that I could find for them. Also we will probably move up to at least 100gr Thunder heads to give a little more weight. She will not be hunting real big animals while in SA, but she does want a Waterbuck for sure. Thanks for any help I can get. Bob

I'm no expert. However, the arrow manufacturer will have charts based on arrow length, draw weight, arrow weight and speed. Your's says 500

I found this for gold tips

I'd recommend going to a shop to really get a good answer.

23" arrows with a 100 grain head at 55#'s should be able to go to a 500 spine on Gold Tips chart.

If your looking at an arrow that your also going to use in Africa you need to look at a heavier head. It dosent need to be a 200 gn head even though this would be better. But look at a good 125 gr. head. Look at building that arrow in the 450 gr. Range yes heavier would be better.

Look at building the weight with foc. Again this comes down to what you want and your understanding of it. But around 15% min. Above 20% is better.

And yes she dosent need all of this hunting whitetail deer. But your going to Africa. You want everything out of that system as you can get.

Thanks everyone. I couldn't find that chart. We will start experimenting now with different heads since the same size shaft can be used.
