    dry stock tanks can be dangerous (not just for cows)

    My parents two labs went for their daily trek across the pasture to play in the neighbors tank. Only this time, I guess since it was dry, they went further to find some water they could actually play in. Only this time, one came home and we found the other one two days later a mile away and stuck up to his neck in a nearly dried up tank. The mud is vicious and don't let go that easily always. Losing a cow is one thing, but not the dog. He's good to go now after a visit to the vet and some electrolytes. We never did retrieve one boot though.

    Wow, I never thought of a dog getting stuck. I spend an afternoon helping a neighbor pull his cow out. Ended up using two tow straps and an F250 to get it out 3 hours later.

      it's bad around here. we've pulled out many a cows/bulls this year. all survived though this time thankfully.
