I am thinking about an Amok. They hang different and you can sleep on your side easy.

Here is my Warbonnet XLC with an Arrowhead Equipment New River underquilt. I was using my intermediate MSS sleeping bag for a top quilt (works great). This picture is from Rabbit Ears Pass just south of Steamboat. It got down to about 24 degrees that night. I slept great.

Anyone tried the one they advertise in a TV commercial about hard things to find. Kind of a long point, front and back and even the sides come to a point. has a tie down rope on each corner. Sorry don't remember the name.

Tried it once and had a hard time dealing with my shoulders getting compressed... I have been experimenting with my hammock but not sure I am ready to do a full out trip with just the hammock.... Will be taking it with me to sleep naps in on my Colorado trip.

Has anyone tried to spread the ends with a stick/pipe to make the hammock spread out some versus having it "roll you up"?? It is what I am trying to accomplish..

I have an eno and love it but I've never done cold weather in it

Never slept in one before or tried laying in one. I bet that sumbuck would flip and dump me on the ground so quick it'd give me whiplash.

I've got a Hennessey and will never tent camp again! I actually bought it for a motorcycle trip i took to colorado a while back and now I dont leave home without it. Like others have said though, you do need an insulating layer between the bottom and your sleeping bag of you'll get cold. I warmed a rock by the fire and stuck it in my sleeping bag w me when it got really cold at night...kept me warm all night!

Slept in one at scout camp one night when i was a kid. It was awful - never again.

Eno single best. Use it everday at work. U know hurry up and wait jobs. Best 30 bucks ever. Pillow, blanket, hammock...I'm out!

Went on a six-day, three-site pig and small game hunt back in March, slept in a hammock the whole trip, loved it.
                            Some things I learned:
                            - a layer of insulation between your back and the hammock makes a world of difference. I sleep hot, so I wasn’t too worried about it, but even the slightest breeze continually pulls your body heat away, and the first night I was really chilled. The rest of the trip I had a cheap yoga mat spread out in the hammock under me, and it was night&day better.
                            - Ratchet straps are ideal for looping around your trees of choice, and make it easy to adjust.
                            - If you find you’ve slung your hammock too low, and it sags to the ground, don’t make your hammock tighter, make your hanging points higher. Stretching your hammock out like a fiddle string will just squeeze your shoulders together all night, and make it more prone to tipping over and dumping you.
                            - get one with a mosquito net, and then run a Thermocell on the ground right under you.

The quality will reflect the comfort

Never on purpose but there have been a few nights on river trips that I woke up the next morning in a hammock... always seemed like good sleep to me.
