Barndo Builder needed in Williamson County

We finally found our slice of heaven just outside Taylor in Williamson County. Closed on it 2 weeks ago I think. Met with a builder but he seems to not understand the what we want. Even with it drawn out for him. Honestly I think he might just have too much going on.

So looking for recommendations for a barndo builder. Need someone that is ready to get to work.

I always forget to look at PM.

We are looking at a 3000 sf building. Half shop half house with front and back porches. And carport lean too large covered area on the shop side.



Pretty much this but a tad larger. On the shop side a mud room, shop bathroom and outdoor shower. 4 12-14 doors 2 on each side for air flow and drive thru to drop camper and boat.

Want to go rustic style with barn doors

Maybe look something like this from front and adding the shop side.

Bench of some sort to kick the boots off and hang the big winter coats and hunting jackets so we don't drag all the dirt in side. Wife sent me this and I like it.

We are open to suggestions so please anything you can think of.



The shop will be more of a storage out door entering kitchen kids play area. Not a lot of work going on. Except when it is time to make sausage.

In another part of the property I will have the shop shop where work will be done and dirty equipment fuel containers and all that will be stored.

I will have an area in the shop I might section off and put window unit in for wrapping customs fishing rods and reloading and be where I store my guns safes and ammo. This is my word wrapping set up now. Completely unusable in summer because it is in my garage and smoldering hot. The dust is also making my hobby more difficult for nice finished product.

Ryon is a great guy easy to work with and def legit. He knows his stuff and is building a 9000 sq ft building for metal mart in Taylor right now.

Good to hear. He was telling me about the metal mart project. I feel like he is the guy. Had a few flake out already. I guess so much building in this area no one really wants to build a home. They want strip malls and entire neighborhoods.

Now, i just need a floor plan design program. Wife and I have been at each others throats drawing stuff on graph paper. She does not know what she wants but she is sure it is not anything i suggest. I gave her Ryan's number and said go for it. Just build it in the budget.

Lol I went through the exact same thing with mine DM. For some reason they just have to SEE it she had such a hard time visualizing the barndo without having it in 3d on paper. We went through **** near a whole book of graph paper! Ryan can help yall out with that and Im sure he has plenty of house plans he can show you. Tell him his kinfolk out in Oatmeal said Hi!!

We still have a bunch of contacts of subs that we used when we built ours so just holler if you need some numbers. Also know a good architect that we have used several times in the Leander area.

Having just built a large barn make sure you get an idea of timeframe it will take to build it from the builder. They are all so busy now (as are the subs) that mine took three times the time to build from what they originally told me. Very frustrating -
