Its been along time since I last logged in, but its August and almost that time again. Plus I've got some photos that might get everybody in the hunting mood. I picked up my latest mount and it turned out unbelievable. I had Mesquite Creek Taxidermy in Pearsall do the mount, and I really cant imagine taxidermy getting any better than what they put out. I also picked up a blackbuck which looks as good as it possible can, I'll post those pictures up later....... Sorry for all the pictures but its a pain the butt taking a mount out for photos and the last 3 photos are for size reference. That's a mid 160"s skull that I'm getting mounted and that's my F250 diesel that the mount is sitting by.
I killed the buck in the Hebbronville area and the average score from everybody puts him at 217". He has 25 points with 2 more broken off, totaling about 6" of missing tines. As a main frame 9 point he grosses 176" and his 8 point frame goes 173"...... longest tine is almost 15" long and longest beam is 27 1/2". He had a live weight around 240 lbs and was probably 8 1/2 years old. They don't get much bigger than this unless you start getting into the "white horn" deer I hope everybody has a wonderful hunting season, its getting close
