    Strange Fish bone

Several years back we found a fish bone in the shoreline of Falcon Lake. it is fragment of a jaw, It is a strange looking bone that I belive belongs to a type of fish that is seen rarely, My Father at one time was a commercial fisherman in the USA side of Falcon in the 60's , he was one of only a hand full that had a license to fish commercially and he told us once of a strange fish that he had found floating dead, he placed the fish in the boat and took it to town to see if some one knew what type of fish it was but no one had ever seen one before. He then heard of an older folk that had lived there long before Falcon lake was built, he showed him the fish and the Old man told him that that fish lives on the deeper parts of the river and lake and that he had only seen them dead and never on a hook, trap or net. My Dad has been gone for years now, I wonder if the bone belongs to that Mistery fish.

Looks like Pharyngeal teeth. Possibly from a grass carp. Cool stuff!

Probably related to gar, as that almost looks like the corner of its jaw sorta kinda only different.

                I am disappointed

Thought I was going to find out about some little known species of fish

OP surely your dad would have known a carp, I'm wondering what he found
