Pretty tolerable summer weather so far...

Brutal here and at my lease. Last time I went we stopped working at 107. Topped out at 128. Thank goodness for the trailer and a/c. Ponds are losing water fast. We need rain bad. Tropical depression would help until the fronts start to come thru in late September.

This has been the wettest and mildest year I can remember in a long time. August is my least favorite month of the year but we are now nearly half way thru it so dove season is coming up soon.

Something tells me we are gonna see an earlier fall with more rain than usual. I'm also hoping all this rain makes for better range conditions and bigger antlers on the bucks.

Not yet, got a decent string of disturbances/front at least for the next 7. We have an odd pattern where we have ridging on both coasts that is giving us a northly flow aloft. Canadian air is moving south along the miss river valley and spilling back west. This is sort of similar to what we might see in the dead of winter when we occasionally see elongated periods of cold

A north or west wind this time of year in South Texas is brutal. Today was a scorcher and by the looks of it so will next two weeks. Close to 100 on the coast and right at 100 inland. So I don't think it's any different from recent years past, it's still a hot Mf'er out there.

Well, I knew the mild summer (comparatively speaking) would not last forever, I'm just thankful that we got into August before the forecast shows so many triple digit days ahead. The good news is there will probably more fronts later this month to disrupt the pattern.
