    Finished my homemade tractor sprayer

Got it buttoned up. Used an IBC tote and a pto pump that I scored on a trade. Plumbed it to two outputs for a hand sprayer or my homemade aluminum L 16' wide boom. Just tried it out and it works like a champ. I was shot two nozzles for the center but I'll have them installed next weekend. This is going to make spraying food plots much faster than the UTV rig I had! One question, I've never sprayed glyphosate.... how many gallons with the 2.5 gallon jug make??

Looks good! Did you add pivot points on the boom so it will move out of the way if you get too close to a tree or something? As far as the gly mix. 2oz per gallon of water is a great ratio for broad spectrum killing. So if you have 2.5 gallons that means 320oz of chemical will treat 160 gallons.

2.5 will kill most grasses... 4 will kill about everything

I use 4 oz/gallon (46-53% glyphosate) and an oil surfactant with good results. You can also use dish soap as a surfactant.

Glyphosate needs a good mixture and good leaf coverage. Too hot of a mixture causes a burndown without a systemic kill. Too lean and you will contribute to creating gyphosate-resistant weeds.

Nice rig! I'm working on the same with a boom-less single sprayer. I will be using a 12v pump on mine.
BTW, 2.5 gallons of 41% glyphosate concentrate will make a 125 gallon mixture of 2% glyphosate which will kill just about everything.

Also, make sure the pump is rated for glyphosate or it won't last very long!

No I did not put pivots on the boom. The areas I am spraying are large and flat fields. They are held in place with two wing nuts on each side. As far as he pump, I hope it is rated for it! It's. 175$ pto pump from tractor supply. The instructions simply said to flush it good after use and fill with antifreeze.

If it's cast iron the glyphosate will cause it to rust if not flushed good. I would flush it with water real good, let it dry out then store it full of motor oil.

Thanks for the heads up! It is cast iron.
