I believe alligator is freshwater and the crocodile is saltwater. That is all I know.

Snout... Gators have a wider jaw profile, Crocs a lot narrower and v-shaped. I'm sure there are many other differences such as color patterns but beyond that I do not know

Snout shape alligator wider more u shaped croc more pointed v shaped, crocs salt water alligator tend to stay more fresh water

Alligators are fresh water

Hmmmmmm.... I guess those are crocodiles I'm seeing in the coastal marshes.

And there are crocs in freshwater rivers/lakes in Africa/India/Australia
