    Punishment

These stories are always conflicting to me - I hate our prison system and the complete lack of rehabilitation that it lends itself to. I also believe that people need to absolutely pay the price and face strict consequences for their actions...

I hope this kid makes it, but feel horrible for the Step-Father's Family that has to watch this happen.

Yeah he should not be free. It's not like he got caught with some pot he killed someone....

That kid should have never been allowed back out in society IMO.

I tend to think the same thing - One slip up is too much when someone's life is at stake.

Ethan Couch is a prime example of the judicial system, a dwi would get you more trouble.

The larger injustice here appears to be that 2 boys committed the same crime, yet received 2 very different punishments. Seems the only difference is the quality of legal representation they each recieved

Received the same sentence initially - Only one retried case under new law.

I can read, why wasn't the other boy re-tried under the new law?

No public outcry for him - Lady that took up the young one did it waving fees. Lundy was too old to benefit from the new law.

After murdering someone I don't think he should've gotten freedom so easily. I understand he was only 12 but at that age he knew what he was doing, therefore should have to accept the full consequences of it.
