Mustang Island/Port A - Suggestions

I'm heading down that way with the family for a few days (baseball) in mid-August and was looking for suggestions on places to stay, places to eat, things to do etc. Baseball will only be for a few hours one day ( at Tamu-CC) so plan on coming in a couple days early to spend some down time. Also looking for fairly easy access to do a little fishing. Any help would be appreciated and thanks!!

Copano Bay pier you can catch 2-300 trout a night. Only two of them will be over 15". Lol

PM me. I can draw you a little map. For some quick fishing. In PortA I highly recommend "Jay's Spaghetti Works" best food on the island in my opinion. Trout Street or Verginias is a nice dining experience by the water. Best sea food in Port A would be FINS, also on the water. In corpus, Scuttlebutts would be my first recommendation, great food drinks and atmosphere. Boat House would be my second. Hope this helps.

Second FINS, they also have pretty good burger.
I usually stay at Captain's Quarters mostly because it's cheap and I'm usually down by myself to fish but it isn't bad for the price.
There are some pretty nice and reasonable cabins, houses and condos on Vbro and airbnb
