deer near palito blanco

My uncle had a lease there in the early 90's. Only seen a doe , yearling & a spike in 2 years. The dove hunting was great.

Biggest deer I have seen there has been about 130". Not to say you couldn't happen across a bigger deer, I just think that unless you are on a large property deer don't have much time to mature over there. Dove and hog hunting is great though.

guess I'm lucky. we see 9-14 different bucks per season. most are born that year, some 1 1/2yr olds. sad. we have never killed a deer on the place. excellent hog/dove/quail and rabbit hunting.

About 10 yrs ago we leased 800+ acres there for 1 year, lots of pigs, deer not so many. I think there is a lot of poaching going on by some of the locals.
Game cameras mainly had does on them.

wow, those are nice bucks for the area! or anywhere.
we drive around some chilly mornings and have never seen a single deer outside of a high fence! it's crazy.

so many doves this year, I bought a new shotgun!!! can't wait for the season to start.
