Used to see bunches of them as a kid growing up. That being said, didn't see any for many many years before seeing 2 last year at the lease. Cool critters!

I see a few every year at our lease in San Saba. I tried to catch one last year that was very close to the same size as the OP posted but he made it to the grass before I could get a hand on him. Neat little dudes.

I see them quite a bit up here. Found one last week. See them crossing the road all the time. They're very cool lizards.

When I was a kid, living in White Settlement.
You couldn't walk anywhere without seeing them.. And I mean a lot
of'em.. Sure hope they make a comeback..
There are a lot of Texans, who've never seen one...
