    Fence jumping cow??

Alright we have a fence jumping cow on our lease, she's actually a turned out show heifer and has a taste for high protein, turns her nose up to good pasture grass. Anyways she's jumping our 48" panels and tearing up our feed pens to get to our protein feeders. Already knocked one over and completely emptied another. Anyway to remedy this other than buying the cow and turning her into hamburger meat?

Seems like it's always the "pets" that cause the most problems. Catch her, tie a hobble to one front foot and one back foot, it'll break her from jumping after about two tries. FYI, heifer owner will be PO'd, but she'll still be broke from jumping.

Strong electric fence charger with wires strung high and low.

Had a cow that was determined to keep getting out no matter what. She kept tearing down the fence by a bridge and would go under that bridge when water was low. When you worked on the broken part of fence, she'd watch from a distance behind the trees. Then after you left she'd get up close to study the repairs. After putting a strong fence charger in place, she tried jumping it, but got a good enough shock that it sent the poop flying out of her as she ran up the hill. We thought that was the end of it. Nope!!!!!

A day or two later she just rammed on through. It was about to necessitate rock salt or something else in her behind to stop the fence destroying. We put up panels and extra hot wires n barbed wire to finally stop her. That was one determined cow.

Some sage advice from my father: life's too short to waste too much time chasing a fence-jumping cow. Jail-breakers go to the auction barn.

Sale barn usually fixes that problem. Does for us

it has been my experience that this is the only thing that works.

I probably shouldn't sell a cow that's not mine... she's gotten river rock fast balls to the side every time I've drove up to her in the feed pen, I repair fence and as I drive off I see her jump right back in damaging fence in another spot and hoovering all my protein. Guess solar fence is my only option.

do you have height on your T post to add another strand or two of wire?
that might do it or she may just push through.

That's actually what I was thinking, just add a strand of barb wire and see if it deters her.
