    Deer Stand Ideas

I'm currently building a 4x6 and am looking for a few outside the box ideas to do on the inside of it. There may already be a thread on this but I couldn't find it. Any of you guys have pics or just ideas of what y'all have done in the past?

Check out the diy section. Everything from lights to sleeping quarters and A/C installs can be found there.

I just finished mine. I made a redneck air conditioner for mine since we are in Texas. Also bought a Buddy Heater at Wally World yesterday since we are in Texas. I put shelves in it & military style camo netting across the windows to kind of break up your profile looking into the blind. Carpet on the floor is imperative. It dampens sound. I also painted the inside top half with flat black paint. My windows are hinged wood. I added two sliding locks (the kind on public bathroom doors) per window to keep the owls out during the off season. I also put a strip of carpet on the bottom of the windows where I would be resting my weapon.
That's all I got. Best of luck on your build. As has been said, check the DIY section. Lots of better ideas there than what I've got.

If you aren't too far along I would change it to 5x6 instead of 4x6. The difference will blow you away.

Best thing I put in mine is a few rear view mirrors. I can sit in one spot and watch 360 degrees around me without moving my head. I've seen a LOT of deer that I would have missed otherwise.

My 4x6 is on a 7' base, and the walls are 7' tall. I made the roof sturdy out of 5/8 plywood, covered in 1/16" plastic sheet and outdoor carpet. If I'm rifle hunting or it's raining, I sit in the blind. Bowhunting I sit on a swivel seat on the roof and my eye level is about 18' with full 360 degree shooting ability.

Definitely make it deeper than 4' if you plan to bow hunt out if it. This is the voice of experience speaking.

Lots of good ideas on this thread in the DIY section. I'm getting ready to build myself a new bow box blind based on some tips from there.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^. I built 3-4'x6' blinds a few years ago. They are a bit to narrow at 4' with two office chairs in the blind. Really tight for two hunters and even more difficult for 3 if the chairs are highback and have armrests. If I had it to do over I would build 5'x7'. I have two office chairs with armrests and need room for a camera/tripod setup in the blind.

Yea I'm to far along to change it now, it's all welded up and ready to put plywood onto it. Wish I would've read this 2 days ago lol. The thought definitely crossed my mind but I didn't think to much into it. We always hunted in 4x6 growing up so I kinda stuck with that. I'm gonna have to build another one before long and will definitely go 5x6 or 5x7. I like the rear view mirror idea and the extended top! Such simple concepts but neither has ever crossed my mind!
