I have shot a few truball models and a couple stans. Stan perfex is by far the best but also most $$. Truball max pro 4 is about as good as it gets on a budget IMHO. I can set it almost as light as my perfex but the perfex fires like a 1911. Archerytalk is a great place to buy used.

I've been using Carter a thumb release for 12 years and can't imagine going back to an index finger type release. I have a Target 3 and an Insatiable 3. The Insatiable has a little more curve to it but I can't tell a difference between them.

I shoot the Tru-Ball ST-3 - I've tried newer releases but, they just don't feel the same to me.

Stan Shootoff is the best I've shot.

I shoot an old Carter Big Kid as my primary release.

I really like a few offerings from TruBall, Scott, Stan. They feel great in hand, and fire really nicely.

Try a bunch, and get one that fits. I see a lot of guys shooting a thumb release that is just too darn big for their hand.

It's OK if you spend a good bit on one, they last for years.

Just looked at them. Don't both the brands cost around $200?

Do yourself a favor and buy a Stan SX3. I have tried them all, and the Stan thumb releases are my favorite....they break like glass.

I've shot quite a few. Always go back to my fang 3 finger. Don't know why but it just feels automatic to me.

Get 2 and keep the extra one on your backpack if you hunt in the air, trust me on this one.
