You must tour the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides)! Constitution Road in Charlestown.

Cape Ann - Lighthouse tour in Gloucester. Probably see the Wicked Tuna fleet, lighthouses and some very expensive real estate in this very historic fishing town. The inlet at Western Ave.....the same inlet so many watermen navigated through....which includes the ill fated Andrea Gail of the Perfect Storm disaster. Andrea Gail home ported in Gloucester along with many other notable American fishing vessels. The oldest commercial fishing port in the USA.

Cambridge, Lexington and Concord - sub towns absorbed by Boston. These are the original settlement areas with architecture of that era.

    Lobster chowder.

Freedom Trail is cool. Fenway is a good stop. Tons of history along the trail.

Legal Seafood in Boston = Pappadeaux's in Houston

                  Not bad
                  But not the best
                  It's pretty great quality
I don't eat shellfish so I couldn't give you personal recommendations but Legal is a go to spot for sure.

I was in Boston (spent most time on the vineyard) for the 4th of July this year.
Took my girls so we did stuff like the swan boat ride in the common and other very regular stuff that only locals do (basically we hiked and biked some new waterways [think Houston bayous])

Best ice cream is Toscanini's in Cambridge but JP Licks is the town favorite and has locations everywhere

North End has best Italian food as well as Mikes (or Modern) pastry shops for RICOTTA PIE
                  don't get a stinking cannoli

Best breakfast is at The Palladium which is just off the common in Beacon Hill

You do know Boston is very young and liberal, right?
                  It's like California.
                  Only a different accent.

So true. It's a different mindset liberals have there I noticed.

Get tickets and see a ballgame at Fenway, eat where the locals do outside the park.

Prepare and train for lots of walking. Very historic areas, I always like visiting Faneuil hall, Freedom Trail (the rebels are coming), Harvard / MIT campus area cafes, Marble head for the witch hunts/burnings, Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, Beacon Hill area. Don't forget to try the New England Clam chowder or NE Rock Lobster.
