Prayer request -Justin's uncle

They have him off the sedation and trying to get him to wake up. He won't open his eyes but according to my aunt seems to be mad. They are trying to get fluid off his lungs so they can have him breathing on his own so they can do a heart cath.

We went to see him yesterday and although he's still on the vent, he's opening his eyes and responsive when you talk to him. He seemed to recognize Justin's voice when he talked to him and did his best to turn and look at him.

Saturday afternoon they removed almost 2 liters of fluid from his lungs. After that he started opening his eyes when his wife would talk to him. He is lightly sedated since taking him completely off meant that he was getting very agitated and his BP was shooting way up. The Dr. said it was all good signs and direction. He now has a case of shingles on top of everything else. Today makes 7 days on the vent and getting him off is their main goal. They are happy with how is body is moving fluid other than the lungs, but we are praying what they drained doesn't come back. His kidneys are functioning and there has been no more talk about loss of blood or infection... a major answer to prayers!

Thank you all so much for your prayers! It was hard to see him like that yesterday but we were so happy with how far he has come. The nurse told the family when he came in he was a 10, death's doorstep. As of this weekend, they were ranking him more of a 6.5! That's leaps and bounds from last Tuesday!!

Lord, we come to You this morning asking once again for healing for Roger. We thank You Lord for the work You have already done and we thank You Lord for the healing yet to come. Hear our plea Lord. We praise You in the morning, We praise You at night and all the day long, for You Lord are worthy of our praise, and we honor this work You are doing in Roger. Comfort the family and give them strength to endure with Roger as they support him. Clear his lungs, and ease his pain from the Shingles. Touch his skin and make the itch and pain go away. Give him comfort in this Lord. We Love You Lord, and it is in Your name Jesus we ask and pray, Amen.

Thanks bud! I just text Justin's mom to ask her if she gave him a stern talking to yesterday. You could tell when Justin was talking to him that he wanted to wake up but couldn't. They did that for his safety, but I'm so glad he's off now!
