I unfortunately discovered when i showed up to my lease this past weekend and it was 157 degrees that my ac was not working. It will run but only blow ambient air, from what i'm reading it is easiest to just replace the whole unit and be done with it. Does anyone themselves deal in this business or know anyone that does? Any insight here is appreciated here.

They are very easy to do. If you are sure it is the upper unit ( Compressor, Capacitors, Coils, and fan motor. The newer Coleman hooked right up to the older controls.
Remove the ceiling assembly, unplug the upper unit. remove the 4 long mounting bolts, and remove. then reverse the procedure.
Your best place to get them in Houston will probably be Lone Star RV or PP&L but they have went up a bit in the last few years. Probably going to run about $500 for 13.5K BTU and $600 for 15K BTU. If you have any question, feel free to ask
