That's what my wife and I did on our honey moon and due to all the speed traps in Oklahoma it took longer.

        Won't be towing.

Wife was talking about leaving Waco at about 3 which would put us in the middle of traffic heading north on 75.

Looks like I no longer have a choice since my MIL is coming with us and she is deathly afraid of dropping off of a cliff in Arkansas at night. I'll look on the map and see if there is another way to avoid D/FW and Arkansas but still get there in a reasonable amount of time.

Come up 31 from Waco, to 19 to 20 east to 251 to the border. Or follow the blue hairs and gummers. Just kidding!

Best way I have found is to go to Little Rock and then up to Branson. There are cliffs in Branson.

Yeah that's a about the worst time to leave and have to travel through DFW

This is more or less the route that I told my wife we have to go to avoid D/FW. The only problem is it would add about 2 hours to the trip. Told my wife we don't have a choice as going straight through D/FW at that time would add at least 2 hours, if not more. She agreed, so it looks like she is going to cancel her training on Thursday so we can leave Waco no later than 10 am, and head through D/FW before traffic gets too bad.

On the way home make sure to take hwy 21 towards Ponca Ar, this route will end at I-40 in Clarksville AR.
Ponca is where the large elk herd is and 21 is a really scenic drive....... well worth the additional hour drive
