    Tires on ranges/mules

I'm planning on getting a Kawasaki fxt pro ranch in the next couple weeks and was curious to know what everyone is doing to keep from getting flats?

Any great tips would be nice. Thanks in advance

I just put 8 ply tires on my ranger after tearing a big hole in my 3 ply. Second time out I stuck a mesquite limb right through one tire. Luckily I was able to put a plug in it and it is holding air fine. I just added some after market "slime" that I got at the feed store.

People laugh, but in place of slime, I've used liquid starch (for clothes). $2.50 or so for 1/2 gallon. Pull the needle in the valve stem and pump it in. I use the biggest syringe from tractor supply w/ no needle to get it in the valve. It works the same and is much cheaper. Even use it on cracked mower tires. They may go flat, but after you air them back up and drive a bit they will seal for a few weeks. You can read up on this on various tractor or mower forums.

I think Saltwaterslick has a good recommendation. I just can't remember what he used. Maybe he will chime in because I need to know too.

I just got away from the factory tires on my Ranger EV. I've run Berrymans Sealer from day one and it is great. BUT, some of the holes are too big for it, and for plugs. Just got tired of the 4 plys. Just installed some Kanati Mongrel 10 plys. Haven even been able to run them yet but will soon. Reviews have been really good.

                        This..new for me!

My 07 Ranger has the Kevlar tires PLUS slime. TBH son and I have never had a flat but the left rear has a very slow leak. I suspect it's the valve stem but will go for weeks until it needs some air.

We just bought another Ranger and it had truck tires...BFG 10 ply (I think) that are also slimmed. So far, hell of a lot better ride and hoping they hold up. No lift, no rub...just a thought.

I never thought about that but if you can get a 15" rim it would work. Prob about the same price and a lot better tire

                            Slime

The Essex tires are very heavy and ad a ton of stress to the suspension and bearings.

The ride on Essex is not good.

Definitely the toughest tire you can buy.

Would say Essex with past experience. But we are going to try Pro Armor Kevlar on our new Polaris. They are 8 ply instead of 6 and come in various treads not just claw type. I will say many times that I have put air in the Essex, never having a flat.
