    Indians did it right

My youngest daughter and I went to Hobby Lobby just to find a little projects to Tinker with while we were there I saw on the leather Department there was these kits to make moccasins. It didn't cause very much maybe 10 $12 but I put them together and they are absolutely the most comfortable things I've ever had on my feet. I guess you could kind of forget the whole idea of stalking socks if you had these things around they don't take up any room and your feet just feel so good on the ground. I guess it's just the next best thing to being barefooted. Granted I've only had to take my shoes off once and in another time I wish I had. But for you other guys who do it a lot this is definitely an option. I didn't like how lot they were and I wanted to make them even softer and a little water repellent so I put mink oil on them and rub them in real well you can tell the difference.Click image for larger version

Saw a kit for boots made like that bit wasn't sure how it'd turn out. Were they too tough without the mink oil?

No I just didn't like the unfinished color of them. They were already plenty soft but the mango helps and adds water protection

Just don't try walking on the side of a pine needle covered hill.
