    Redneck Electrician Question

Running power for 2 20A circuits in my conex 150ft from main panel. Should I just bury 2 runs of THHN in conduit for the two legs, and 1 run for the neutral and ground the sub panel with a rod at the conex or should I run a bare ground in the conduit and tie it into my ground bar in the main panel? Would like to get by with one 500ft roll of wire.

Pull your two hot legs and a neutral. You can pull in a green ground if you want to ground at your feeder (main) panel or you can drive a ground rod and ground your sub panel. Is your sub panel a main lug only or is there a main breaker inside of the sub panel? If this is a MLO sub panel and you're feeding it from a breaker in your main panel, be aware of the sub panel size in amps (60amp sub panel should be feed by a 60amp breaker in your main). At 150' you may experience some voltage drop. You can avoid this by up sizing your wire depending on your load. Also, if you're in city limits, make sure there aren't any funky city codes that you may need to adhere to. Good luck.
