    Day-Lite Savings Time Change

Quoted from articles off our company intranet.

As you may know, the United States Congress enacted a change to the daylight saving time start and end dates beginning in 2007 in an effort to further conserve energy. As a result, many software companies are now releasing updates to adjust the Daylight Saving Time window in their date-dependent applications. The first place you will notice this happening is your Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
In 2007, daylight saving time begins on March 11 instead of April 1 and ends on November 4 instead of October 28. Daylight Saving Time (DST) now begins 3 weeks earlier and ends 1 week later than in previous years.
    The rest was company jibberish.

Really...they can change time like that?

If so, have them do "light year savings time" and make me 39 again...

I heard that they were doing away with time changes... Or maybe this is just what I wished

I figured they'd have adjusted it so congress would only have to work 6 days a year instead of 8.

Thanks, I'll mark my calendar. (if its not marked already)

Daylight savings is such a farce! I wish they would do away with it all together, like several other states (Arizona is one).

There are still 24 hours in every day. The sun still rises in the morning and sets in the evenings. There are still the same number of daylight hours.

Commerce drives daylight savings time. It's all about the money. The reason it was extended an extra week was to pick up the Halloween weekend. Why? Because lobbyists for the candymakers pushed congress to do it. That's it plain and simple. It has also been proven that the more daylight you give the average worker in the evenings, the more money they will spend and the more gas they will burn. It's kind of ironic since DST was originally implemented under the pretense of fuel conservation. It's just another governmental idea that has outlived it's usefullness and needs to be eliminated.

Sounds good to me. I hate it getting dark at 6.

i kinda like getting up at 5:00 in October better than 4:00 in November. less commotion in my belly. 4:00am coffee stirs things.
being able to do yardwork after work makes for a better weekend also!
