    Opening at Firstpoint Dec. 26-28

A previously committed hunter is not able to make our trip in December (26-28)to First Point. I wanted to see if anyone out there would be interested. This is for one spot with myself and another individual.

Welcome to First Point Bowhunting First Point Bowhunting is an archery only hunting service. We are a trophy whitetail, hog, javelina, and turkey hunting ranch that is located 30 miles from the Mexico border near Eagle Pass in Maverick county Texas. This area of Texas is one of the BEST trophy

DATES - DEC 26-DEC 28. If you have hunted First Point, you know that this means 12 noon on 26th to 12 noon on 28th. Cost is 140 per day and is well worth it, in my opinion. I would ask that deposit be sent to me asap - I can only assume that TBH members are stand up guys and gals!....I know I am, and rest is due to First Point(Mike or Nancy) upon arrival($140). The total being $280. This means you will be able to hunt Friday PM, Sat AM, Sat PM, Sun PM. I will coordinate with you and Nancy Palmer to ensure that you are comfortable with the arrangements and have a copy of the rules. Please check out the website above to take a look at the rules if you've never been.

If you're truly interested, post your phone so we can talk in person.

Killem All and myself will be camp during those days as well. There will be 4 days of non hunting before we arrive at the ranch and there will be no moon.

I have never been, but I have been wanting to go since it opened. First Point is a tough hunt, but if you know the day lease game and are a good hunter you can have a chance at a nice deer. You never know what will step out of the brush in Maverick County. Killem All has been several times and killed a couple of deer I believe.

I'm guessing you bring your own stand? Treestand or groundblind better?

Yes, this is a DIY hunt where you will have to setup your own stands. They run a corn route and with only being able to hunt two days that might be your best bet. A small tripod or ground blind will work. Most people will take a pair of loppers and a chair and make their own stand in the brush. You can dig a hole as well to help you get below brush level.

You will be in the same pasture with JFrank and the other person in his group, so yall will work together.

Thanks Heath for fielding all the questions. Everything Heath has written has been correct. I personally hunt out of a Double Bull Blind but actually think making a brush blind is even better b/c they are very used to man made blinds. You have to brush them in very, very good to not get made.

First Point is worth every penny...especially with 4 day sof no hunting and no moon.

Take a look at the site....140.00 a day is a bargain.

Accomodations are good enough. Plenty of showers, nice cooking areas and plenty of room. No restrictions on where you place your blind (kind of) and the feed route is light enough to keep the deer moving fast down the road until they hit your spot.

                          I'll be back next year....
