When you get to be my age, you don't want to do it by yourself, and it's a lot of trouble to get my wife to help.

Be careful, once you get it up, the dang heifer's will want to rub on it all the time.

Best thread title I've read in a long time!!

Seriously though, get some help getting it up. And wear your rubbers. It might be wet this weekend...

Never deal with the disappointment or embarrassment again. Confidently get it up the first time every time.

Seriously, this thing is a life saver. The anchors give the bottom of the ladder a pivot point, and you can crank the winch tight enough to allow you to climb to the top and secure your ratchet straps.

An active imagination helps in these situations.

Problem with a catchy Thread title is that responses get a little off topic. But I think I'm going to go with the new PrimalStands 22' Mac Daddy Ladder.

Not a bad plan, taller allows you to penetrate the foliage better to hide. The easiest way to get it up would be to just pay someone to do it for you, but there's just more satisfaction knowing you were able to pull it off all on your own.

Don't forget about giving credit to the bees or wasps. They deserve a mention.

Make sure you trim the brush under the ladder stand. It will give the illusion that you are higher up than you really are.

If you do it enough, you'll develop the forearm strength to do it regularly. I can stand mine up by myself anytime I need to. Sometimes I practice in my backyard so I don't get in a bind at the lease. Nothing worse than having to get it done and not having the strength to pull it off.
