What weed is this? Does it serve any good purpose?

Back in like April or May I mowed and sprayed this area up at my place. I did also disc this ground. After everything died off it stayed just dirt until a real good rain came and growth started back. I did put lime in the area as well. Well yesterday I went to set a feeder up here and I found all this stuff like a knee deep tall. I saw bees on the flower part. Anyone know what this stuff is? Any chance deer are eating on it? I hope whatever food plot I put in is as plush as this crap.

goat weed. Or are you talking about the yellow flowered plants? I have a pasture full of it and it will get to 5-6' tall.

Looks like a hogdgepode of stuff.

The lighter stuff is what we call dove weed. Dove crack if they have easy access to it....but it doesn't look like the access is easy here. Too much other stuff blocking their comfortable entrance.

Get rid of it, will draw dove to your corn.

Yup, it goes by many names, Goat, Dove, and Croton which is the proper name.

OP I would spray it. The seed has already probably disbursed, you usually want to kill it as it just emerges and hasn't gone to seed. WHen you shred and disc to put in your plot you will have this stuff sprout up again. Nothing that can be done at this point. Next spring kill it with gly and 2-4-d before it gets going. My .02

Well being that this is 20 acres behind my dads that has never had anything done to it its to late. None of the property around here as has been taken care of like some would do. The acreage next to use was just clear cut, north of us is the national forrest , and across the road is my dads cow pasture. I see this yellow plant all over where I set my feeder up. Maybe next time I go I'll just walk around spraying with my back pack sprayer. I just need to get the Glysophate on the leaves correct?

Looks like partridge pea. But I'm looking at it on my phone.
