    Georgetown/Austin, late August

Headed down to the Austin area late August, our son starts UTs Pharmacy School this fall (already a BS in chemistry) . Looking at camping at Lake Georgetown (Cedar Breaks) and driving down to the "White Coat Ceremony" to get it kicked off and rub elbows with the affluent and liberal.

Question, any better place to camp (38' 5th wheel), and what to see on those few days outside of the ceremony itself? Hill country, etc. And don't say a UT football game, downtown or water parks, I'd rather stalk poachers.

Its slightly further away, but I like camping at Lake Bastrop South Shore Park; 44 minutes to UT vs 33 from Lake G.

Thanks for the Bastrop recommendation, I'll look into it. How would be the best route from Fort Worth and not have to deal with Austin traffic?
