    Determining trailer axel weight limit

I have a 5x10 single axel trailer I bought used. How can I tell what the axel is rated for?

Guessing it doesn't have a tag, label, stamp, or other? Typically, 5 lugs are 3500#, 6 lugs are 5200#, and 8 lugs are 7000# on bigger trailers. I do know that there are some 5 lug 2000# axles on the market, though... Beyond that, I'm no help.

      I looked into it.

You can measure the diameter of the axle, and you can measure the bolt pattern of the lugs to determine the weight capacity.

      Google the details

Picture of the trailer would help.

Should be stamped somewhere on the axel. Might try taking it by a trailer mfg and asking them. If its a used trailer and previously registered axel weight is listed on the paper work.
