Out of state hunting is looking better every year!

Why are the hunters opting for the MLD program? Longer season, Rifle hunting in oct, MLD tags?

Yes the conservation has other requirements that I believe are similar to the old MLD #2 and MLD #3 programs.

Longer seasons, can hunt with a rifle during Archery season, can kill any buck as long as you have a MLD buck tag so that means if you hunt in a county that has the 13 inch rule it doesn't apply to you. Possibly more tags then you would get with your license or on the harvest program. For example, one of the places I hunt has been on MLD 3 for many years and would normally get 8 buck tags and 13-15 doe tags and I believe it will be about the same with the new conservation program but under the Harvest program it is estimating it at 1 buck and 3 doe tags.

Anyone that was on MLD 2 or 3 should go with the conservation program because it will be similar to what they had and they should already have all the info they need since MLD 2 or 3 had similar requirements. If you were not on MLD 2 or 3 then it's my understanding that you will have a tough time getting on the conservation program because you probably haven't kept the proper records to get on the conservation program.

From what I read about the Harvest option you can choose buck and doe tags, buck only or doe only. I think my club (2800axres, 22 members) are going the doe only route. The website said about 15 does can be taken which is right in line with what the last 2 seasons doe Harvest has been. Then for bucks we use outr tags on our license.

            What a joke.

Estimates 30 bucks and 81 does on my lease. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
