    Killing Mesquite trees

I have cut down a number of mesquite trees and now have new sprouts coming from the stumps. Is there an effective way to kill the new sprouts without digging up the stumps?

How's your success with these on young plants with large roots?

Spending way to much time with a pick axe in this hot weather but remedy and reclaim just don't do it on these "mowed over" mesquites.

            Remedy/diesel mix.

19% Remedy. Cut the tree and spray the stump. You can also do a basil treatment where you spray just the stump portion about 6" up. Lastly, you can spray the bush itself if its small enough.

We have used remedy and diesel for yrs. last year we switched to sendaro and we have about 90-95% . It is more expensive than remedy initially but when you add cost of diesel it's comparable. Also since its water based and not diesel/oil it doesn't wear out you pumps. Will be spraying some this weekends.

6 oz Remedy per gal of water works for me. I think the diesel burns the leaves before the herbacide gets in the tree and water is a lot cheaper than diesel.

Going to have to try this. Tired of cutting the same little sprouts every year.

We just sprayed a bunch of young mesquites in a pasture with remedy and diesel back in march/April. They all look dead, but what do y'all reccomend next? Not big enough to chop up or pull out with the skid steer like the bigger ones. I've read not to touch them for up to a year. Dig em up, burn, mow?

We've tried just about everything and this the best and better for your equipment. At best with the other stuff we were getting 50-60% kill. Now we're getting 90+%
