I don't know how well these work in a tent. It might work great, but I had two in a state park cabin out in West Texas a few weeks ago with one unhappy pregnant wife. It never got below 80 degrees in the room. It was cooler outside than inside a few hours after the sun went down. I don't blame her.

I've done it many times. I just sat it in the door and zipped down to it. You'll get some condensation depending on how cold you set it but it works great.

set small 110 ac unit on an egg crate and drape a tarp over it in front of the tent. Use Duct tape and tape the tarp over the front of the tent door. Put dirt over the edge of the tarp on the ground to seal the tarp anywhere it touches the ground. Just leave enough space to get in and out. Oh and don't cover up the coils on the back of the AC. Use duct tape to tape the tarp around it as well. Just make sure it can breath. It will keep your tent nice and cool. You could probably also do this over a window so you can still get in and out easier.

The tent I used it on had a L shaped zipper on each door (a vertical one meeting a horitoztal one). I set a cheap $99 window unit on a short bucket of something just to get it off the ground. Then sealed the gaps with duct tape on top of each other (in some cases up to 1ft of gap). Biggest thing I didn't think about was putting it on the low side of the tent area as it will drain off a significant amount of water.

Wasn't that comfortable during mid day but had to turn it down at night.

Probably the only time I've used duct tape for anything close to its actual purpose.

Standup portable would for sure be easiest. they have wheels and handles. Just vent through the zipper and tape/insulate around it. The window unit seems like it may be more preparation than its worth to have it work efficiently.

put your a/c on a crate/box the same height as the window it will be blowing into, make a duct out of cardboard to go around the blower vents, use a lot of duct tape, and then connect that to the tent window with more duct tape (I recommend gorilla tape). it works very well. sleep well!

Well a little cutting and duct tape she is in. So far so good pretty cool in tent now. Temp reduction at least 20*
