    Age getting in the way

I understand that at 70 your eyes are not as good as they once were and you need good optics, and your hearing can use some assistance and you need to stretch longer before your 3 mile run, but having to take a break just filling up one 600 lb feeder is uncalled for. Sorry for the rant.

I'm 46 and have to take a break after filling my 600# stand and fill. I hope to have your problems when I'm 70

If your running 3 miles, you're doing well Sir. Keep it up. This heat is tough. Safe hunting.

No way I could run 3 miles either. Whatever is chasing me and FORCING me to run would surely catch me long before I went 3 miles

If you're 70 and running 3 miles I don't think you're in bad shape. I don't know anyone close to 70 that could run 35 yards before calling it quits. I'm not even 30 years old and I won't run 3 miles. I ain't tryin to live forever.

          Good luck to you though.

The only way I stretch is from one end of the sofa to the other end!!!

What is this "running" you speak of? But I can still fill a 600# feeder with no break. It is not as much the age as it is the dang heat that is the issue as I get older.

If I'm running three miles something is after me and my gun ain't big enough to kill it !

I run because I am a natural fraidy cat and hope I can outrun the danger and if not maybe the threat will be too tired to cause significant harm. If it is not tired I guess I will just shoot it

You need to get some youngsters to do the heavy lifting. Even supervising them is exhausting but it's much more enjoyable.

Please don't over do it in this heat.

I like hearing about tough guys with a few years under them; there's a guy in his eightys who drops by my neighborhood bc he is "dating" a lady who is much younger than him. He runs half marathons competitively, and looks like he would whip some *** in a street fight. I always shake his hand when I see him and he lets you know his strength.

I'd say your doing great! At 70 the running and stretching are not in my plans. Filling feeders will be the grandkids jobs. I plan on riding in the mule telling them how I used to carry 4 sacks of corn at one time up hill with a ladder type stories

I have been told you are only getting old!
When it takes longer to rest than it did to get tired.

Sounds like you still got most of us for being in shape. The heat is my problem. At 59 I can still work hard in the cool times, but summers are tough
Lack of hand strength is beginning to bug me. That's in spite of being a gym rat for 40 yrs.
