    ipad help

I have an old ipad. like really old. like one of the first ones. it always worked fine, but haven't used it in years. well, Ive got a trip coming up and thought I would load a few movies on my old ipad to pass a little time on the plane. well, I don't remember my password. and it doesn't look like there is any way to change it. when the pass word box pops up, there is no "forgot password" box.

is there any way I can change the password? I cant load anything or add apps or games or anything.

My wife just reset one. Called apple support and connected it to a laptop and synced to iTunes. It reset the iPad completely and lost everything but was the only option since our 7 year old put a pass key on it and didnt know what it was.

It'll have to be connected to your iTunes to be reset. I would call apple support and ask them.

You don't need iTunes to reset. Just press and hold the power and center buttons till it resets. And follow the prompts. If that doesn't work then go to settings general and at the very bottom hit reset. Let me know if you need help!

When you go into App Store to buy something, it should ask for ID and password to verify. You should get an option of Forgot Password and it'll send you a link to your email that you set up your Apple ID with. If you have an IPhone, you can always log in with that ID. Even if you reset the iPad, you'll still need an Apple ID to log back in and download stuff.

How many times have you entered the wrong one?

I think to do a reset you hold the home button and wake up buttons down for 10 seconds or something like that. Happened to my iPhone once that locked up

To reset your Apple ID you have to go to the Apple ID website. Follow the instructions in the link I posted
