    What size generator?

I know very little about generators so asking what size one would I need to power a very small camping trailer? Pretty much all I would run would be a very small window A/C a light or 2 and coffee pot. Also doubt all 3 would be on at the same time. Would something in the range of 700-900 watts be enough? Also the only time this camper would be used would be during deer season so the A/C may not be ran much.

I would recommend minimum 2000w generator. There start up on the compressor takes some wattage. I used a Honda EU2000i for my popup but I was limited to the AC and one or two low wattage lights. A coffee pot draws too much to use with an AC on a 2000 watt generator.

I use a 3500W 30Amp on mine when I use it. 27' trailer with almost everything on, no worries. I also use it on the house during outage. coffee, fans, lights all good, just no AC or Water heater, they run 50A draw.

I agree 2000W. Honda is a great choice. I noticed the Champion brand had an inverter gen for about 1/2 the price....

I agree with you need at least 2000 watts. The compressor draws a lot of amps on startup, plus it's better to have too much power than not enough. For quality go with the Honda. For budget I highly recommend a Champion. I have had the 3500 watt champion from TSC for 5 uears and it still cranks up on the first pull every time. I make sure to run all the gas out before shutting down if I'm leaving it off for more than a day or two.

            No microwave?

Get the biggest one you can afford!

Get one with a large capacity fuel tank. Have to constantly refuel gets old quick.

This is what I have. Way better than a Honda and costs less.

2000w generator can power 10,000btu max ac unit 8000 or less would be better . I had a bad storm over a month ago lost power for 2 days I had my refrigerator, chest freezer , tv, light running all together with a Generac 2000 watt , it used 2.75 gal of fuel in the 2 days with it on non stop. I have tried 12,000, 14,000 btu ac unit and the start up amps was too high, did work with the smaller units. Home refrigerators have much less start up amps. If you want to run an ac and other stuff 3000 to 4000 watt generator will work.

X2 or X3, wherever we are at. As stated, the compressor is the big limiting factor. If you were only running lights, etc., smaller would work but even my Honda EU2000 "bogs down" when the AC unit kicks in. Not cheap but one of the best investments I've ever made for deer camp. Mine is 10 years old and haven't had a lick of trouble with it.

700-900 is not near enough....2000 will work but keep in mind you most like will not be able to have ac running when you turn on the coffee maker. Ac and lights you will be ok or lights and coffee you will be ok but Coffee and AC will be most likely be a NO GO.
