Neat Cobra on display here in Texas. Shot down during a combat mission in Vietnam. Was shipped back to Fort Worth for repairs at Bell Helicopter and then returned to duty in Vietnam.
After the Vietnam War it continued service at Fort Hood until being retired in 1994.

I never heard how or why the town received it. I'm glad they have it. If only the chopper could talk. Heck, if any of the men who flew in it are still alive, I'd really like to hear their stories if they cared to share.
