Bug ID???

Seen a few of these lately and don't know what they are. They look like a piece of a leaf but they move slowly. Never seen one before. Located in Houston if that makes any difference. Thanks.

I used to see these a lot as a kid, especially on juniper trees, but hardly see them now. Used to "pop" them and let the snot green guts ooze out!
