We have two at our lease. They were bought to evaluate, find coons and maybe help with tracking. At night you can make out shapes, animals etc. depending on distance. Hunting with it would be difficult, outside of just using for spotting close game. Had I spent 600 on one I am sure it would already be back at Amazon. I had not been impressed with anything used in the thermal world under 5k until I bought the Trail XP50. For the price, that device wows everyone that looks through it. I know that is not the topic here, but with thermals I had an image stuck in my head and I did not get that image realized until I brought my budget up.

I dont want to go to far off topic. Just my experience with the Tracker Vs. an actual thermal scope. The difference is night/day.

The lto can be bought new for $450-$500. Comparing it to $3,000-$5,000 optics is a bit absurd. It's better than anything else in it's price range

The reviews haven't been great...but as bermise said, I think people are buying it expecting a heck of a lot more than it can actually do.

I'll bet it's still better than those old starlight scopes we had in Nam. Those things were useless on a dark night under the jungle canopy.
