    Water trough systems

Guys, I have seen a lot of post on here about watering systems from totes. what are you guys using for float valves. if you have pictures please post them. The rail road did some track repairs and broke a water line to a pasture and I need to put some thing together to get water in a 450 acre pasture.

I like the Hudson valve floats. I use several for livestock.

Just put that one out over the weekend. The float itself is completely housed inside the outside case. Nothing hanging down or out. Water fills the inside to push float up.

I have had a couple of these out with cows and sheep with no issues (and of course coons and everything else) for going on 2 years.

I use a tote like the above picture but use a little giant trough o matic metal float valve from tractor supply. I use a piece of garden hose to connect mine because the float is 3/4 where the Hudson is 1 inch. I also so use a larger trough, but pretty much the same setup and they work great.

Tractor Supply....$12 a pop and on year 4 or 5 of both of mine. Cheap, simple, easy and reliable so far.

On edit....looks like they have gone up to $14... https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...e?cm_vc=-10005

great little critter stick, OP make sure you do this. I got the float from Tractor Supply pictured above for the water guzzler I will be starting on this coming wee out in Terlingua. Looking forward to watering those desert animals.

On that little giant like Smarts pics definitely put that 90 on the float itself. If you go direct in with a water house it will bust the hose at that bend pretty quick.

Can't see it all in this pic but I ran pvc Down the ground then connected to hose from there to keep hose out of a bind.

Did you get a discount on the tote without the frame?..
