    I need a favor.

Anyone in the Allen, Plano, McKinney area have a metal detector I could use for a day or two? I've got a stuck valve in my sprinkler system and can't find the valves. Evidently the box has been grown over since before I moved in. I'm going to try to follow the wires from the timer. Can anyone help a brother out?

I couldn't find the wires with a metal detector, not much to detect. I ended up getting a wire tracer to find mine. The first time I used a probe to follow the water line and mark it as I went, three hours to find the first two valves. My valves are in three different locations in my hard.
Do you by any chance know an electrician, they may be able to come up with a detector? Mine cost me $1000, but I was in the building maintenance field so I could justify it.

A co-worker is bringing me a metal detector. I'll give it a shot first. If that don't work, it looks like a lot of beer and probing is in my future.

You could go to an irrigation supply store and see if they will let u rent a valve locator. I have one i would let you use but we along ways apart.
