Kayaking west bay

Will be leaving next friday for galveston. We have a house rented that backs up into west bay. Never had the yak in salt water yet. Any tips,pointers or maybe a good spot to shoot for

Nothing wrong with kayaking in West Bay.

I am not a fisherman and have no clue, but please wear a life jacket or some type of flotation device. It's been all too common lately people drowning while wading or kayaking. Have fun and be safe

I was thinking West Bay down around Matagorda. Didn't know their was a west bay around Galveston.
