Man that was saved by a boater

I read about someone that was going fishing, saw something weird in the water that ended up being a man that lost his sail boat and had been clinging to a PVC channel marker overnight.

Was it someone here that posted that?

Think it was here but could have been Facebook. He held on to the PVC Marker with one hand and his friend in the other. His friend unfortunately passed. Believe I read where a gator was 200-300 yds swimming in the direction he was stranded after he was rescued.

I worked with THAT guy for over 5 years at Eagleton Engineering, and then at Jacobs, after they bought Eagleton. My boss was just telling me about it today at lunch. I told him that I remembered reading the story. When he showed me the picture, of the guy sitting on the bench (after the rescue), I couldn't believe that I didn't recognize him the first time I read the article. None of the stuff I read ever mentioned his name. It was confirmed through past co-workers that it is indeed him.
