    RV Campground Suggestions

I'm looking for any suggestions on a good place to getaway for a few days. We normally visit lakes or bays, but no longer have our jet skis so I am looking for something a little different. Would like a place we can just chill and is dog friendly. Maybe something along a river where we can cool off or even tube. Prefer something within 3-4 hours from Houston. Would appreciate ideas and any specific campgrounds to look into.

    Thanks

I've hear the Palmetto state park at the turn off at Bucees in Luling is nice with a creek/ river of some sorts to cool off in. It's on our short list of places to visit not too far from Houston.

We stayed 3 days last week at the state park on Galveston and it is quiet and dog friendly, but only has beach water to cool off in.

Promontory point on lake Proctor. Sandy beaches and on the north side of the lake so you get a cool south wind. Little over 4 hours is the problem.

Thanks...maybe a little far, but I'll check it out.

I found this while searching online yesterday, but saw mixed reviews. Have you stayed here?

This, this and this. We haven't been in two years (since they flooded) and have been missing it.

We were there about a month ago. Everything was nice and clean. Most spots are pretty close to each other. We stayed in the newest area without shade but you had a lot of room. You can take your own golf cart or sxs which was handy to pack stuff to the river.

Close spots was the biggest complaint I found online. We have a golf cart, but unfortunately no hitch on the trailer.
