Credit Card interest question

Is there any truth to if a credit card company closes your account that they can no longer charge interest on the balance? I was told that if you close it they can still charge interest but if they close it they can't.

I've never heard of that, believe the agreement is still intact as far as interest.

That is what I always thought but had a home builder finance manager tell me that they can't so I figure I needed some more light on the issue

You're still borrowing the money so the meter will still be running.

absolutely incorrect they can charge you interest as long as you have borrowed money
