    Calling all machinists!!!!!!!!!

    I need to single point a 1/2-13 STI external thread. I need the major diameter. Everything else should be the same as a regular 1/2-13. Our engineers and design folks ain't here yet. HELP!

            Thanks Stephen! It's not very often that there is a need to turn O.D. helicoil threads, so info is hard to find. Going to get the IT guy's to load the Thread Check program for me.

                Crap!!!!! The IT guy says that if he orders this, he has to do our shop and the McKinney shop. All or none. $415 a pop times 500. He said it ain't happening. Going to have a sit down with my boss. I need this.

                    I'd have to get a new phone. I don't have one of them smart phones. Plus, this is a very unusual request. Normally if a hole was tapped for a helicoil, an insert would be installed.
