I have a pair of black, Danner Acadia boots given to me by a hunting partner who had been on a SEAL team, and those were what they wore. He had one pair that were smaller than the marked size, didn't fit him and they fit me. Best boots I've owned.

You said you have foot problems, and my wife has custom shoes make from a last that was made of her feet- and it's amazing the difference, she could not walk far without them. While the first pair was pricey ($750 for fitting/last and first paid of shoes, $300-$400 per pair after), if you have serious foot issues and can afford it, having a pair of hunting boots made by somebody may be the way to go. She has custom orthodics, which her shoes are fabricated to have in them.

I developed Mortons nueroma from running for years - just got fitted for new running shoes - I was wearing D width and now wearing EE width - also got orthodic innersoles too - made a big difference. So now I need to ditch my current boots (which are way too narrow) and find new ones - I think my existing boots may be part of what caused my problem - thanks for the info

I also own several pairs of Solomon's, as well as Oboz. Have owned dozens of Merrels, North Face, Rocky, Danner, etc... After 10 yrs Rocky won't even acknowledge the boot, Merrel will, depending on the particular product, Solomon is out the window as well, Oboz hasn't been around 10 yrs, Danner isn't interested in a boot over 5yrs old, RUSSELL is for life.
Make sure it's a style you like, cuz you will be looking at them for a long time.
I have had two pairs of the Russell loafers made and they have held up well - see them at the SCI convention every year -

I got a pair of the Saloman Quests a few weeks ago and I'm really liking them so far. I have a pair of LaCrosse snake boots I wear more than anything though.

Agreed. Own 4 pair new in a box to replace worn out ones in fear they will quit making them

I have been wearing Danner Pronghorns for I don't know how many years. Went thru several years of climbing up and down the canyons at Sanderson and still going strong.
