    Wish I'd had a camera....

Was coming back from Austin, from mopac down the toll road. As you sweep around to the east on 45 and head to La Fronterra, I look down to the right in the field and there was a heckuva buck maybe 100yrds from the road. Big matured bodied, heavy antlered buck! I've seen a few deer in that big field before, but nothing like this hoss!

    Can you say Robinson's deer?

Last year I had a huge buck dart across the highway in front of me in a driving rainstorm.

This was off 45 west just about 1 mile southwest where you are describing.

      Could be the same one??

Is that who owns that property? Looks like at least a 100acres of pasture there.

Might be...I know If I was hunting and he stepped out, I wouldn't be doing anything but grab'n bow!

Hey Tx_Burt, you go that route too don't you? I know you have told me of a lot of biggun's out there.

Probably a gross understatement...I'd say more like a few hundred acres there.

I've seen a couple of really nice bucks in that area over the last three years. Wish I could get down in there.

And I get to hunt that area every year.......there are definitly some monsters in that area......suppose to be going over there Sunday to see if I can bag another mature buck from that area as well as some does.......The landowners property that I hunt on has asked that we all shoot at least one doe this year......I killed a good 10 out there two years ago.......And I get to hunt this place for free (well minus the corn)......

I might shoulda said UP the toll road instead of down it orginally.

For scouting purposes.. ... the red dot marks the location of where the deer was at 5:00pm yesterday! LOL

He was with a doe and was grazing on the green grass in the erosion control drainage terrace thingy... I think that's the technical term for it.
