    Counterfeit spyderco from Amazon

    Hi there, this is no rant only mentioning to warn tbh that I ordered a spyderco military off Amazon for $170. It came in and the clip broke after a few days. Spyderco sent a free replacement clip and that is when I discovered I had a fake. In hindsight my blade was way too dull the locking mechanism wasn't smooth and one of the clip screws had rust. Lots of small things that I didn't quite put together at first. Amazon has refunded my money, and spyderco said I could send it to them and get a 45% off as big of an order as I want, Amazon also let me keep the knife. It is a very very close counterfeit with a perfect box. Be aware when ordering spyderco even from Amazon and have an Awesome day! Ps the real clip was a flat black and sturdy the counterfeit is shiny and lighter.

    I have heard of a lot of knock-offs being sold on Amazon.

      The authentic clip is in my thumb,the fake is on the knife, the fake appears painted and the real looks dipped or heavily coated.

          Was Amazon the seller and shipper or was it through a third party?

            Amazon was the seller and the shipper. They are taking this seriously and said they were pulling all the militarys. It was not a "open box" purchase.

              Good to hear they are making it right. I purposely bought a spyderco knockoff "Byrd" knife a few months ago. It was about $25, it's been a good knife so far and dang it is sharp. Good luck on deciding what to get now with 45% off!!

                  Glad you caught the fake one. I hate that when people try to cheat others. Hope Amazon catches them and sticks that knife where the sun don't shine.
